The House

A signature you'll recognise on skin

Origin, style and the scent DNA that defines Acqua di Parma.

Origin story

The story began in 1916 in the historic center of Parma when Baron Carlo Magnani created a personal fragrance, Colonia, as an alternative to the heavy perfumes of the era. Inspired by his travels and a longing for the Italian sun, this light, refreshing scent captured the essence of Italian refinement. By the 1950s, the brand reached international "Golden Age" status as Hollywood stars discovered its notes in bespoke tailor shops while filming in Italy. Today, as part of the LVMH group, it continues to celebrate traditional craftsmanship infused with a modern lifestyle.

House style

Elegant, simple, and timeless. The brand is famous for its Art Deco-inspired cylindrical bottles and hand-finished, bright yellow hatbox packaging. Their style reflects the "Arte di Vivere"—the Italian art of living—where things made slowly by hand develop a unique soul.

Signature scent DNA

A foundation of vibrant "frutti d’oro" (golden fruits) like Sicilian lemon, Calabrian bergamot, and orange. This sparkling citrus core is typically balanced by aromatic herbs like lavender and rosemary, and refined woody bases such as vetiver, sandalwood, and patchouli.
